Stampin' Up! in Miami

WOW!!! Just in case we had any doubts when we drive around town and see the Hispanic influence in the area, we are definitely "up there" as far as important Hispanic markets go: Stampin' Up is coming to South Florida!!!!

This event is taking place November 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.. Reservations are required, so leave me a note here or email-me if you would like to get more information.

You will receive copies of the catalogs, do a make-n-take project (Stampin' Up will supply everything that's needed), get to see product and technique demos, and I will raffle a stamp set of my choice amongst those who sign up for this event through me.

Hope to hear from you!!!

World Card Making Day - October 4th 2008

As you may already know, October 4th is World Card Making Day. It's a day to celebrate the craft of card making and also to get us inpired for the biggest card making season of the year: Holiday Cards!

This year, I will be hosting my first ever World Card Making Day event. There's no charge for admission to this workshop, during which I will be demonstrating various stamping techniques, showing off some of my card and scrapbooking treasures, and just plain sharing time with others who enjoy the craft of cardmaking. There will be a card make-n-take, as well as raffles and tips on the various demonstrated techniques.

This card making workshop is free and will be from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon at the Woman's Park, located at 10251 West Flagler Street, Miami. The facilities are air conditioned, with plenty of parking available. Use the East entrance to the park to gain access to the Women’s History gallery and meeting hall. Just e-mail me or leave a comment on this post if you would like to participate.

Hope to see you there!!!

Treasures of a Lifetime

Welcome!
I chose treasures of a lifetime as the name of this blog because that is what I hope to be able to share with you and others who may come across this page. Treasures from the crafts I've learned and treasures from my day to day life.

On the crafts, and to quote one of my best friends, "the one thing Esther has never lacked is a hobby". She said this as a joke many years back, however it still holds true today. From macrame to ceramics, ceramics to stained glass, and now to the paper crafts, I have a desire to learn it all and share what I've learned with others.

Long ago, I used to equate the terms artsy and creative with the ability to draw and paint. These are talents that run in my family, however they must be linked to one of those genes that skip a generation.

I've come a long way from those days, specially after I discovered stamping as a form of art. Did I say stamping and art within the same sentence? Yes I did. Because while someone can look at a stamp as art that someone else created, I look at stamps as a way for me to create art.

On the day to day living, I don't always know how to choose my battles, and give things that don't deserve it lots of thought and energy. The crafting always comes to my rescue. The more I live, the more I craft. I'm sure many of you can relate to this!

Till the next time you visit!
